Grooms are often nervous when it comes to writing their own vows. I am not sure if it embarrassment about showing their feelings to all and sundry or a lack of confidence.

Whatever it is, I can honestly say that some of the most moving and funny vows have been written by a reluctant Groom.

Just as a little heads up, even the best public speaker will be nervous on his wedding day.

Here are some hints to help you write the perfect vows for your future partner. Ask yourself these questions.

Why do you love her or him
What are your thankful for. It could be that you are cared for or you are reminded to take your keys with you, regularly.
What makes you smile about her/him
What do you see in the future with her/him.
What drives you crazy or makes you laugh about her/him (this always helps to lighten the moment)
And finally what do you promise her/him. Whether it be to make them happy when they are sad or to put the Towels in the washing basket, not on the bathroom floor, the promises you make will be special and memorable, not a generic promise for all and sundry.

Happy Marriage Celebrant

Being a Marriage Celebrant definitely isn’t dull. What a few days I have had. I was to Marry a couple on shore who were travelling on the Cruise Ship on Wednesday in Mooloolaba, which I had warned the couple may not happen due to weather. But we went ahead so 7.00am I received a call from the sad bride and groom saying the inevitable had happened.

I said don’t worry we would get it done and I would travel to Port Macquarie if I had to. But the next thing I was receiving calls from media for interviews.

Over the next few hours Media calls requesting interviews from the Sunshine Coast, Noosa and Brisbane and even Channel 7 coming to my home in Noosa ended up with this Marriage Celebrant in a whirl.

Finally this story had a fairy tale ending. With P & O and I organising me to flying into to Gladstone which was their next stop to perform the Marriage Ceremony. At P & O’s expense.

Love definitely finds a way. Especially when we all put in efforts and pull out all stops to make it happen.

This is one very happy Couple and Marriage Celebrant.

Marriage Celebrant Costs

These days it is “how long is a piece of string” as to what Celebrants ask for by way of fees and charges. From one end of the spectrum, you can pay as little as $350 but is it worth taking the chance. Then you can pay as high as $1200…….. same scenario. So the best way to decide on which Celebrant is the “perfect fit” for you is to have a chat. You and the Celebrant can usually tell by that first conversation if you are in sync and on the same page. If you consider what it would cost for a designer pair of shoes to be hidden by your wedding dress or even the Wedding Dress the fee for your Celebrant, who is let’s face it, the person that will make or break you Marriage Ceremony, is definitely not worth skimping on. Remember the Ceremony starts off the festivities for you and your guests for the Wedding Day and should be looked at as importantly as the Reception and Ceremony Venues, Wedding Dress, Caterers, Flowers or photographer.

With regard to your Wedding photographer, they love a Celebrant who considers them. Ensuring that most of the Ceremony doesn’t have the Celebrant photo bombing every shot. It is possible for the officient to spend most of the Ceremony out of shot and only coming in close at necessary times during the Ceremony. So if you have a Celebrant who is considerate of you, your guests and your suppliers you are almost there. Then make sure that you can rely on and communicate freely with the person that will make your Marriage Ceremony and Wedding Day “PERFECT” and remembered by all. Gail Evans

The dress is being made, suits are being fitted and the flowers ordered. Have you forgotten anything. The Marriage Celebrant. It is extremely important to engage a Wedding Celebrant that suits you both, someone you can communicate with freely. The Celebrant is the pivotal part of your Ceremony and Wedding Day. You want to be left completely happy and have your Guests commenting on how lovely the Wedding was.

Professional, relaxed, happy, friendly, accommodating, creative and above all attentive, are words that should describe your Marriage Celebrant. They say you get what you pay for, but don’t take that as set in concrete. But if you would like to pick the right Celebrant for you, you need to give yourselves time and remember, there are only so many weekends in the Wedding Season, especially Noosa and the Sunshine Coast, so don’t hesitate. Most Celebrants have an obligation free initial meeting, so don’t be afraid to email them and better yet, give them a call because you can often tell what a person is like as soon as you speak to them. Same Sex Marriages in Australia

I wrote the following in 2015 and I am so happy to say that finally in Australia all people can validate their love in Marriage. I now have had the pleasure to perform 3 Same Sex Marriages and would love to do more. It is so exciting to be able to declare them Married. Love does not discriminate, Love conquers all, Marriage can now be the chosen way to show the depth of love between two people.

New Zealand Same sex Marriages in Australia are treated as de facto unions under the Australian federal law, though each Australian state and territory is entitled to create their own laws with respect to same-sex relationship registers and same-sex partnership schemes. Same-sex couples are prevented from marrying by the definition of marriage contained within the federal Marriage Act (1961). Maybe it is time for Australia and maybe have Queensland lead the way with legalising Same Sex Marriages. There is myriad of same sex couples going to NZ to commit to their partner. What a way to make the Sunshine Coast and Noosa the place to come to get married and have a wonderful holiday. Same Sex Marriages in Australia? It won’t happen overnight, but hopefully it will happen soon…………..
