Naming Ceremonies

A Naming Ceremony is a very beautiful and symbolic way to welcome your child to your family.

The Ceremony isn’t only for new born babies. Some families choose to have a combined naming day for all of their children. It can also be a very special way of uniting a family of adopted children or for the Name Change of an adult.

It is a perfect alternative to a religious Christening or Baptism and involves much the same preparation and celebration.

I have a collection of Poems and Readings which we can use and adapt to the Ceremony. There are also beautiful rituals that will unite the family and also bring the guests in as part of the Celebration.

Naming Ceremonies involve the important people in your family’s life. Sometimes parents ask close family or friends to play a supportive role in their child’s life, these people are considered equally as important as Godparents or Mentors.

At the end of the Ceremony, I will present you with a beautiful Certificate as a memento of the Day.

I consider the naming of a Baby one of the most beautiful celebrations, and it is a privilege to perform the Ceremony for my clients, who I hope will keep in touch from time to time with the progress and update of their very special gift.

If you aren’t quite sure what to do or where to start, I have a basic checklist of things to consider which I will make available to you at our first meeting.
